Current Work and Events

Private Practice:  After many years of working in mental health facilities and maintaining a small private practice, I have switched my focus to my private practice.  I am currently accepting new clients.  My specialties include eating disorders, body image, trauma, and women's issues, including issues of age.  My life in the dance world has given me vast perspective on issues relating to body image, eating, and aging.  My certification in the Body Positive has deepened my expertise and skill level.  I am also accepting clients with issues related to more general practice issues, such as grief, depression, and other life challenges.

My commitment to my clients is to explore and deepen the meaning and purpose of their lives so they can feel hope about living the life they are longing for.  I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families using Internal Family Systems, existential, transpersonal, feminist, and cognitive orientations.  I combine my love of psychology and creative movement with embodied consciousness via talk, dance, creativity, and meditation, and am very responsive to my clients' needs in terms of shaping our work together.

I am also available for supervision for dance/movement therapists and for consultation.

Public Speaking:  I receive many requests for public speaking and workshops at conferences and colleges, especially for introductions to Dance/Movement Therapy and its applications to working with people with eating disorders, as well as presenting on the Body Positive and its many benefits.  I have been a guest lecturer at JFK University and also at Goucher College.

Group work:  I facilitate an Eating Disorders Support Group on Thursdays at 5:30. Please see the flyer below for more information.  Groups with women are in the planning stages, including a women's drumming circle.  I am very excited to be teaching Modern Dance in Chatauqua Hall in Pacific Grove on Tuesday nights. No one is teaching Anna Halprin's work in this area, and I have missed that creative community.  Please see the flyer below for details.

My office is in the beautiful Evolution Transformative Arts Studio behind The Cannery in Pacific Grove, CA.
